Counter-Strike:Source at the-eXperience 2008 will have a total prize purse of 12.500 ˆ in cash and the tournament will consist of 32 teams.
All matches are played on the-eXperience PC's. The tournament area will have 40 high end PC's which enables 4 matches to be executed simultaneously. Players are not allowed to bring PC's or monitors.
1. Admins
The lead admin of Counter-Strike:Source at the-eXperience 2008 will be Loïc "RegnaM" Péron, who will be constantly assisted by 4 referees. Main admin of all tournaments at the-eXperience will be Per "Pajser" Kyed, who has the final say on all disputes.
Decisions made by the admins and referees are not disputable.
2. General rules and regulations
2.1 The software used is Counter-Strike:Source
2.2 The official Counter-Strike:Source GUI of the-eXperience, created by lead admin Loïc "RegnaM" Péron, has to be used for all matches. A standalone version can can be downloaded here July 17th at midnight.
2.3 The official “in game regulations” of the-eXperience, created by lead admin Loïc "RegnaM" Péron, has to be followed. They can be downloaded HERE
2.4 It is a 5 (five) player team tournament.
2.5 Each team must present 1 (one) representative. He/she is responsible for his/her team and will be responsible of all communication with the admin and referees.
2.6 Each team member must use the exact same team abbreviation (clan tag).
2.7 Each person attending the tournament must have read and accepted these regulations. Ignoring it can not be a reason put forward in case of an issue

3.3 Each match will consist of one map. Map selection will be made on a "Selection by elimination" system, which we call "TEX Veto". Prior to each match the team captain of the facing teams meets up with their referee. A coin toss is made, loser gets to remove a map first from the map list, then the other team removes a map etc. until one map is left - that map will be played.

It is not allowed to remove the same maps in two following matches. E.g. Team 1 removes map A + B in first match. In second match Team 1 is only allowed to remove map A or B + another map. In Third match Team 1 is once more allowed to remove map A + B.

6. The Arena
6.1 The Arena is only open on specific match times according to the program.
6.2 The Arena will be closed after each match.
6.3 The tournament area inside the Arena is only open to players and managers of the playing teams.
6.4 Players and managers may not leave their area during matches.
6.5 When a match is over players and managers may only leave the Arena if accepted by a referee, and only if the exit is made in a polite and respective way towards the other teams still playing.
7. Match and warm up
7.1 Every match has 30 minutes of warm up time followed by 45 minutes of match time. The warm up time can be used to warm up ingame or to install config files and drivers. No player will be granted more time than the 30 minutes set aside for preparation.
7.2 The winner of a knife round selects sides.
7.3 All matches are played using MR15 (Max Round 15).
7.4 Each team has 1 (one) timeout per match
7.5 Tactical time outs are allowed, but will replace a technical timeout (e.g. a player crashes, drops etc.)
7.6 A timeout is a total of 5 (five) minutes.
8. Computer and player failures
Players are responsible for any software or hardware that is not installed/provided by the-eXperience.
9. Server, network or electrical failure
9.1 If server, network or electrical failure occurs the match is to be resumed and each team keeps the amount of points they had won.
9.2 A failure happening during the first round leads to restart of the entire match.
9.3 A player or team causing intentional failures are banned from the match (e.g. deliberate restart of the PC, deliberate disconnecting from the game etc.)
10. Fair-play
10.1 It is forbidden to insult, abuse or manhandle a player or an admin, or do damage to others property.
10.2 It is forbidden to do damage the property of Roskilde eSport and partners of the-eXperience.
10.3 The notion of fair-play is up to the referee’s assessment.
10.4 Lack of fair play can lead to penalties.
In order to secure a pleasant course of game, we encourage all players to show a sportsmanlike and fair conduct.
11. Penalties and disqualification
11.1 If rules are broken, referees can in unison with the tournament admin apply penalties according to their judgement.
11.2 Penalties that can be applied are the following;
- warning
- 3 round loss or more
- default loss
- banning a player/team from the Arena
- disqualification of a player/team from the entire tournament
11.3 Disqualifications are applied by the tournament admin and the event manager of the-eXperience in unison. And will void all rights for the entire team to participate further in the tournament, and also to use the facilities provided by the-eXperience.
12. Pointsystem group play
3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss
12.1 Rounds counts as "goal score" for and against
12.2 No show = 8 rounds to the winner and 0 rounds to the loser
13. Equality of points after the group matches
If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings.
a) Higher number of points obtained in the group matches played amongst the teams in question.
b) Superior round difference from the group matches played amongst the teams in question.
c) Higher number of rounds scored in the group matches played amongst the teams in question.
d) Drawing of lots
14. Match overtime
There is no overtime in group play, which means matches can be drawed. In playoff MR3 will be used on the same map in the case of a tie.
15. Reporting the result
All results must be reported to the respective referee right after the match. All teams must be able to provide screenshots of the score.
16. Gear, drivers and configs
Players are allowed to bring their own mouse, headset and keyboard, as well as drivers and config files etc. All PC's will be open for configuration and can easily be reset to a fresh install.
17. Cheating
17.1 No 3rd party program (e.g. Powerstrip, Rivertuner etc.). The only 3rd party programs allowed are voice communication programs provided by the-eXperience.
17.2 If a player is caught cheating the entire team will be instantly banned from the-eXperience.
17.3 Players are not allowed to edit their config file. Any violation of this rule will be sanctioned according to 11.2.

18. Voice communication
Team speak and Ventrillo servers will be provided by the-eXperience.
19. Roster
19.1 A team is allowed to have 7 players (including staff) on their roster. The names of all players are registered upon checking in. Check in must be made less than 2 hours prior to first match. The roster is locked during the entire tournament. Tournament admin can decide to make exceptions on roster changes depending on the basis of the request (e.g. a player is injured etc.).
19.2 Replacements must not occur during a match. A referee has to be notified by the team manager or captain prior to the substitution.
19.3 A player can not participate in more than 1 (one) team during the tournament
The tournament
The prize purse of the tournament is 12.500 ˆ.
The tournament will consist of x amount of groups of x teams depending on how many teams sign up (e.g. 8 groups of 4 teams, 4 groups of 5 teams etc.), followed by double elimination.
Seeding will be made in 2 layers:
Layer 1: 8 teams
Layer 2: Remaining teams
Groups will be randomly picked on July 23rd in the Arena at 22.30 (CET) and made public on
www.the-experience.dk
The grand final will be played using the system where both teams each select a map. The first map to be played is the map selected by the team coming from upper bracket. If this team wins on that map then they are the winners of the-eXperience 2008. If they however lose the map then the final will resume on the map selected by the team coming from the lower bracket. The team who wins this map will be declared the winner of the-eXperience 2008. In the occurrence of a TIE on the second map, the teams will continue by playing a MR3 overtime on the same map. This will continue until a team wins 4 of the 6 rounds played in overtime.
Each round of the upper bracket have 1.600 ˆ to be divided amongst the winning teams. First round have 8 winning teams each getting 200 ˆ, next round have 4 winning teams each getting 400 ˆ etc. The winner of the tournament will get 3.750 ˆ, second place 1.250 ˆ and third place 750 ˆ, while the winner of the Consolidation final receives 350 ˆ.

These rules are the only rules to be used at the-eXperience event organized by Roskilde eSport, no other rules are valid than those officially announced here in this document.
