Total Commander (ранее WinCmd) - файловый диспетчер для Windows, наподобие проводника Windows. Однако TC использует иной подход: у него две постоянных панели бок о бок, как в хорошо известной DOS-оболочке (NC). Поддерживает работу с длинными именами, как и положено всем солидным менеджерам для Windows, содержит встроенный FTP клиент (с возможностью работы через proxy-серверы различных типов, включая и безопасные), позволяет проводить различные операции над файлами, начиная от простого копирования, и заканчивая архивированием, резкой и изменением атрибутов. Интегрируется с практически любым архиватором за счет встроенной поддержки или использования контекстного меню Explorer. При всем многообразии возможностей инсталлятор занимает менее двух мегабайт, а функциональность и низкие системные требования уложат на лопатки стандартную и громоздкую оболочку Windows Explorer :)

Основные характеристики:

- Функции клавиатуры, близкие к оригиналу (NC для DOS).
- Поддержка Drag&Drop при помощи мыши.
- Расширенное копирование, перемещение, переименование и удаление элементов файловой структуры (допускается удаление непустых каталогов).
- Работа с архивами так же, как с подкаталогами. Вы можете легко копировать файлы в архив и из него. Соответствующая программа-архиватор вызывается автоматически. Поддерживаются PKZIP, ARJ, LHA, RAR, UC2, ACE, TAR, GZ и TGZ.
- Меню "Запуск" (команды, определяемые пользователем) для размещения в выпадающем меню часто используемых вами DOS- или Windows-программ. Текущий каталог и/или файл под курсором может быть передан приложению.
- Командная строка для простого запуска программ с параметрами, для этого надо просто набрать имя программы или нажать CTRL+ENTER или CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER для добавления файла под курсором в командную строку.
- Расширенный поиск файлов, включая поиск текста в любых файлах, в т.ч. на нескольких дисках.
- Встроенный просмотрщик файлов (F3 или ALT+F3) для просмотра файлов ЛЮБОГО РАЗМЕРА в шестнадцатеричном, двоичном или текстовом формате с использованием набора символов ASCII (DOS) или ANSI (Windows). Ширину строки и размер шрифта теперь можно настраивать.
- Внутренний распаковщик от Info-Zip, который позволяет распаковывать архивы ZIP без вызова внешней программы! Исходный код, написанный на Turbo Pascal, бесплатен и может быть получен непосредственно от автора.
- Настраиваемая панель инструментов с кнопками для запуска внешних программ или внутренних команд меню.
- Настраиваемое главное меню.
- Внутренние распаковщики для форматов ZIP, ARJ, LZH, GZ, TAR, RAR и ACE.
- Внутренний ZIP-упаковщик, основанный на библиотеке ZLIB от Jean-loup Gailly.

Настройка для ftp battle сервера:

Открываем меню "сеть -> соеденится с ftp сервером" или клавиши Ctrl+F.
Выбираем пункт "добавить"
Вводим данные как на скрине.

Для анонимного подключения всё тоже самое, только вместо учётной записи вводим anonymous или ftp, вместо пароля выбираем анонимное соеденение и вводим не E-mail, а ftp.

В дальнейшем просто выбираем нужное соеденение и подключаемся.

Обновление до Total Commander 7.50 Final

После продолжительного тестирования 09.09.09 (Кристиан Гислер верит в магию чисел? :)) выпущена финальная версия популярного файлового менеджера Total Commander 7.50.

В версии 7.50 была реализована долгожданная полная поддержка юникода. Теперь юникод поддерживается везде, где это возможно. Кроме этого, в новую версию внесена масса разнообразных изменений и улучшений. Среди прочих, разработчик выделяет следующие улучшения:

* Полная поддержка юникода;
* Файл помощи теперь в формате CHM;
* Поддержка имен файлов до 1022 символов;
* Защита FTP-паролей с AES256 шифрованием;
* Сравнение по содержанию или синхронизация директорий через командную строку в Lister;
* Увеличена длинна комментариев до 4095 символов с поддержкой переноса строк;
* Синхронизация директорий: Возможность синхронизации пустых директорий и возможность копирования файлов с определенными свойствами;
* Возможность использования горячих клавиш Windows как горячие клавиши программы;
* В 64-х битной Windows возможно использование 64-х битное расширение оболочки в контекстном меню программы;
* Копирование файлов в несколько разных директорий одной операцией;
* Быстрый поиск через диалог поиска: возможность показывать только файлы или директории;
* Переключение кодировки в Lister;
* Новая система ассоциации файлов для использования программы с USB-флэшек.

Только вот не каждый сервер поддерживает шифрование.
Для простого юзера не нужная функция .

Обновление до 7.55 Final

После продолжительного тестирования 17-го июня выпущена финальная версия популярного файлового менеджера Total Commander 7.55.

Это довольно крупное обновление включает массу разнообразных улучшений и исправлений. Среди них: ряд функций теперь работают в фоновом режиме (в том числе и работа с архивами); передача файлов между двумя компьютерами, соединенными через USB; улучшена синхронизация директорий; улучшены функции сравнения по содержанию; увеличена максимальная длинна линии в Lister до 1024 символов; улучшена работа с контрольными суммами и т.д. В новую версию также внесена масса разнообразных изменений и улучшений.

Сообщение от a2z У всех TC при запуске не запоминает последнее расположение своего окна? Неудобно каждый раз его разворачивать.

Нужно сделать "Конфигурация" - "Сохранить позицию" и "Конфигурация" - "Сохранить настройки" после разворачивания главного окна на весь экран.
