Game Jackal Pro - особенность этой программы заключается в том, что с ее помощью вы сможете играть во все ваши любимые игры, не вставляя оригинальный диск. При этом Game Jackal не изменят никакой части игры и не создает виртуальные диски, а создает лишь профили игр в то время, когда вы в них играете. Разработчик наделил свой продукт поддержкой CD и DVD носителей, а его главной особенностью является то, что само игровое приложение не изменяется и не создается копия игрового диска, а лишь его профиль. Более того, Game Jackal может быть интересна и родителям, стремящимся запретить доступ своему чаду к нежелательным играм. Сделать это может путем обращения к соответствующей функции утилиты.

Часто, когда пользователю удается «заполучить» таки у знакомых компакт-диск с любимой игрой, возвращать его приходится в самый неподходящий момент, а своей копии приложения, разумеется, нет. Дилемму можно решить двумя способами – купить диск с компьютерной игрушкой или воспользоваться программой, которая создаст его профиль. Именно к классу данных утилит и относится Game Jackal.

Пользователи ноутбуков экономят энергию батареи и могут использовать дополнительное оборудование вместо физического CD-ROM, отсутсвует потребность в наличии внешнего накопителя компакт-дисков. наконец то я избавился от постоянно хранимых на винте образов детских игр игры которые не требуют данных с диска но требуют диск при запуске, а таких большинство, прога создала маленькие профили-описания для запуска, и теперь не нужно постоянно хранить и подключать целые образы

Release v4.0.0.2 - beta (2009-09-07)
- Total rewrite to allow UAC and limited user accounts to be fully support. In addition this rewrite also address a number of blacklisting issues that have occurred with previous versions.
- There are a number of things to note with this version.
1) This version of Game Jackal can be installed alongside previous versions of Game Jackal. Profiles from v3 are compatible with v4, simply shutdown v4 and copy profiles from the profiles library folder of v3 to the profiles library folder of v4.
2) Game Jackal no longer runs at start up. You simply open the interface when you would like to use the application, and then close it when you're finished.
2) Guardian control has been disabled due to compatibility issues. We are looking into ways to re-enable it for the final release.
3) The Windows 7 style interface is now the standard Game Jackal interface, with the older interfaces now removed. There are plans to provide additional themes to the Windows 7 interface.
4) Desktop shortcuts are not supported (nor can they be generated). This will be addressed in the next beta.
5) The "Convert to Game Jackal profile" option is not supported. This will be addressed in coming next betas and will finally support both x86 and x64 platforms.

Release v3.2.1.4 - release (2009-06-23)
- Fixed an issue that was displaying the CD/DVD details in explorer after the profile had been deactivated.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing the Game Jackal plug-ins from appearing under the navigation bar interface.
- Fixed an issue with the hints windows displaying when the main interface was not visible.
- Improved bad media reads (-9 error). Game Jackal now performs a deeper scan of bad sectors and will continue regardless of the result.
- Improved capturing for some titles (including The Sims 3).
- Fixed an issue that interface locking feature when used with the new navigation bar interface.
