eSports Award 2008: Известны все номинанты

Цитата: Вчера организаторами был анонсирован полный список номинантов на eSports Award 2008. После объявления номинаций на лучшего игрока года и лучшую журналисткую статью, нам представили претендентов на лучшую команду по итогам года, лучшего кээсера, варкрафтера и новичка. Среди них, к сожалению, ни одного представителя от России. Да и других республик бывшего СССР и ближнего зарубежья в списке не видать. Интересно, что на роль лучшей команды года среди Counter-Strike 1.6 проектов претендуют отнюдь не MYM с fnatic. Это немцы mouz и датчане mTw.dk. Главному претенденту на звание лучшего игрока года — поляку Neo — почему-то не нашлось места в Counter-Strike дисциплине. Кстати, мы вновь представлены как претенденты на звание лучшего портала, пишущего на киберспортивную тематику. Viewers from all over the world tune in, to watch who of their stars gets the coveted trophy. As the most prestigious accolade available in eSports, the Award is designed to give athletes, teams, journalists and developers involved in eSports proper recognition for their work and sportsmanship. Only the best of the best are honoured with the prize. Players are nominated for specific achievements in single tournaments. The eSports Award is able to retain its position as keeper of the gold standard since its voting body consists of those most experienced in their field and in eSports in general. In most categories, the final winners are determined by this jury, that is composed of the ablest players and journalists, while the community chooses the awards honouring achievements for the community. The winners are crowned during the grand eSports Award Ceremony with the "who is who" of eSports in attendance at Games Convention on August 25th.

Though basically a team game, one great tactician or one flawless aimer can mean the difference between winning an losing. This category honours the most valuable players for their performance in specific tournaments.

Best Warcraft 3 Player
Awarded since: 2004

The world elite in Warcraft 3 is spread throughout 5 continents. Hot spots of the WC3 scene remain in Asia and Europe with a host of players competing in international tournaments. The crown in the WC3 scene is heavily contended. In order to be nominated in this category, a player needs to have shown exceptional performances in one single tournament.

Best FPS Duel Player
Awarded since: 2007

The Duel players scene is among the oldest of the eSports community. With the increase in tournament-ready Duel Shooters in the last year leading to an eSports Award category, we now pay tribute to this eclectic group of players, that brings us so much joy with their breath-takingly flawless movement, speeding through maps like the wind while giving their opponents more than just a hard time. This category is not part of the eSports Award 2008.

Newcomer / Breakthrough of the Year
Awarded since: 2004

While already having more than a decade of history, each year sees new eSports heroes emerge. Players nominated for Breakthrough of the Year have made headlines with upsetting victories against established star players. To qualify for a nomination, a player needs to be in his first year concerning international tournaments.

Each year, the best eSports coverage website is honoured with this prize. To have this award in the lineup signifies the importance of having active editorial teams and constantly improving scene websites, in order to further the growth of eSports. The winner of this category is determined by the community. In 2007, this category is merged with the eSports Award for Best eSports Coverage (German), resulting in 10 nominations to be given out.

Scene Journalist Award
Awarded since: 2007

As important as the coverage websites are the people behind them. Without outstanding young journalists, that drive their respective scene sites, the quick development of eSports from small to large scale would have been nigh impossible. With the Scene Journalist Award, we honour those, who put all their energy and enthusiasm into informing people, often without getting paid at all. Every scene journalist can apply with an article of his choice, further details can be found in the rules. An English translation of any submitted article is required, since the final winner will be voted by the community.

Journalist Award

In the constant development of eSports as a whole, the classic press always played a significant role. Explaining the benefits and excitement of eSports to the masses is of utmost importance, if players and companies want to gain public approval. The authors of the 5 best journalistic articles of the past year are nominated, regardless of the original language. English translations of every article will be provided.

eSports Game of the Year
Awarded since: 2007
Past Winners: Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (2007)

After three years of giving out the Best Publisher Award, the choice now fell to making the Award go out for a more specific achievement. By honouring the eSports Game of the Year, the eSports community gives back to those who are making us what we are. It also serves to demonstrate to publishers, that eSports is an important field of business for them and that developers should abide to the needs of the active online players. All games that were published in the year leading to the eSports Award Ceremony are eligible in this category. The winner will be determined by the community.

Lifetime Achievement Award
Awarded since: 2007
Past Winners: Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel (2007)

While still a comparably young sport, eSports already has quite a history to look back at. To be bestowed with the honour of the Lifetime Achievement Award one needs to have shaped the fate of eSports over years, having a major influence on the coming-of-age of eSports and all its aspects. This Award is not guaranteed to be given out every year. There is no nomination list, the winner will be announced about a month prior to the eSports Award Ceremony.

While it is widely accepted that there are extraordinary achievements within PC FPS shooters, the merits of the best of the best within the consoles world have so far been overlooked. The Halo series has shaped star players known throughout the world and is represented on a large slate of eSports tournaments. The eSports Award now decorates the Best Halo Player of the past 12 months for his outstanding performance.

Consoles Player of the Year (Online Award)

For a few years already, eSports has not been confined to the PC any more. In a wide range of games, with a whole lot of tournaments, an individual pro gaming community has formed. Consoles fans celebrate the star players. With the emergence of professional leagues using console games as part of their games selection, it is natural that the eSports Award honors the achievement of the Consoles Player of the Year.

Цитата: Несколько часов назад появился пресс-релиз eSports Award 2009, самой авторитетной премии в области киберспорта и компьютерной журналистики. Напомним, что наш сайт в прошлом году входил в состав специальной Академии, которая помогала осуществить выбор победителей. В этом году учредители премии решили поменять предназначение созданной ими Академии. По их мнению, многие результаты в прошлом году были, мягко говоря, не совсем объективными. Большую роль в этом сыграли огромные фан-клубы некоторых номинантов, которые позволили им добиться значительного перевеса в голосах на финише. Чтобы сделать премию максимально честной и объективной, eSports Award отдаёт всё на откуп Академии. Именно за ней теперь останется последнее слово. Нет, конечно, зрители смогут голосовать за своих любимчиков, но это будет происходить на ранних этапах и отнюдь не во всех номинациях. Так к примеру, они сформируют шестёрку номинантов в номинациях «Лучший киберспортсмен года» и «Лучшее е-Спорт освещение» года. При этом, каждый из шести номинантов будет представлять свой регион: в голосовании примут участие Америка, Китай, Корея, Западная Европа и Восточная Европа, а также Северная Европа. Таким образом, уже 5 июля станет известен итоговый список номинантов, среди которых обязательно будут представители постсоветского пространства! eSpots Award 2009: Известны все номинанты

Цитата: Академия eSports Award 2009 раскрывает последние карты — все номинанты известны, и осталось выбрать победителей. В одной из самых почётных номинаций «Киберспортивная команда года» оказались сразу два коллектива по Counter-Strike 1.6. Это прошлогодние чемпионы mTw.dk, и чемпионы года нынешнего — fnaticMSI. Не надо быть каким-то выдающимся экспертом, чтобы предположить, что победа в итоге достанется одной из этих команд. Скорее всего это будет fnatic — сомнений в реальной силе шведов в этом году ни у кого не возникает. Помимо «игрока года» появились отдельные номинации на лучшего кээсера и варкрафтера. Примечательно, что одному из главных претендентов на звание лучшего киберспортсмена roman'у не нашлось места в более скромной номинации. Наконец, в этом году будет выбрана лучшая киберспортивная игра. Среди номинантов такие игры как Quake Live, а также Street Figther IV. eSports Award 2009 назвала победителей

В этом году организаторы премии решили не устраивать публичной церемонии, просто-напросто огласив результаты и отправив соответствующие награды победителям. Абсолютным триумфатором церемонии стал Кристофер «GeT_RiGhT» Алесунд, выигравший во всех номинациях, где был представлен. Швед удостоился звания лучшего киберспортсмена года, выиграл в номинации «Лучший кээсер», а также вместе с тиммейтами победил в номинации «Лучшая команда года» в составе fnatic. Отметим, что Кристофера на протяжении всего года называли новым «королём» контр-страйка, и вот теперь к нему пришло публичное признание. Хочется надеяться, что GTR не насытится наградами и не остановится на достигнутом, и впредь будет радовать почитателей своего таланта новыми победами. Прорывом года стал далеко не новичок киберспортивной сцены — испанец Педро Морено «LucifroN» Дюран. Мануэль «Grubby» Шенкхуйзен выиграл приз «лучшему варкрафтеру года», а лучшей игрой назван Quake Live.
